In general
terms we can say that SHODO is Japanese Calligraphy. The word shodo
is a combination of the letters sho (writing) and doo (path). In Japan,
all the traditional disciplines that are transmitted through the imitation of
models presented to us by a sensei or teacher who masters the technique
of such practice have in their definition the concept of michi
"path" where a person who was born or lives Before us sensei
(saki- forward / umareru- born, to live) transmits his knowledge
to us. Therefore, there are words in Japanese such as: juudo 、 kado、 kendo 、 sado 、karate-do 、etc. In the traditional concept of Japanese
teaching there is no room for the idea that "all roads lead to Rome."
It is thought that there is only one way and it is the one my sensei
teaches me.
